The Dallas Mavericks suffered a disappointing loss in Game 2 of their Western Conference playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, falling 116-111. Despite a stellar performance from Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the Clippers managed to pull away in the final quarter to level the series at 1-1.
Doncic led the scoring for the Mavericks with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Irving added 26 points and 7 assists. However, it was not enough to overcome the Clippers' balanced attack, led by Paul George's 29 points and Kawhi Leonard's 24.
The game remained close throughout, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. The Clippers managed to gain a slight edge in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 32-25. They then held on to their lead in the fourth quarter, despite a late push from Dallas. A crucial 3-pointer from Luke Kennard with just over a minute remaining sealed the victory for the Clippers.
The Mavericks will be looking to bounce back in Game 3, which will take place in Dallas on Friday night. They will need to find a way to improve their defense and limit the Clippers' scoring if they want to regain the lead in the series.
